Hello

I am employed as a university professor at the Department of Fuel Technology, Faculty of Energy and Fuels of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

In 1998, I received a Master's Degree with honours in Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Fuels and Energy at the AGH. I obtained a PhD in technical sciences in the field of chemical technology in 2004 at the same Faculty. I obtained a postdoctoral degree in 2018 at the prestigious Faculty of Chemistry, Wrocław University of Technology in the field of chemical technology. I also completed post-graduate studies obtaining the title of Professional Manager of Research and Development Projects at the Agricultural University in Kraków; Managerial post-graduate studies obtaining the title of Manager of Scientific Research and Development Works at the University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin, international course entitled Sustainable Energy Development as part of the European Union's TEMPUS programme and post-graduate studies entitled Electricity Markets at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Electronics at the AGH.

My scientific and research activity covers issues related to the technology of obtaining carbon adsorbents, analysis of porous structure of materials and computer modelling of adsorption processes on heterogeneous surfaces of solids. In recent years, in order to meet the urgent social demand, I am also working in cooperation with an industrial partner on ventilation air purification systems. In total, my scientific and research activity has resulted in 181 publications, including: 41 articles in renowned journals with the IF factor - in which I mainly appear as a correspondence author; 2 chapters in books, 100 papers at conferences, including 30 at foreign conferences. The total Impact Factor of my publications is IF = 108.017, h-index = 13; and the number of citations = 387. In addition, as part of my work, in 2017, I initiated and coordinated the signing of a cooperation agreement between the AGH and an industrial partner, which resulted in, among others, implementing two of my inventions. Currently, one of the products is already entering the market. I am also the author of four patents and ten patent applications. Three articles about my inventions appeared in the national Gazeta Prawna daily in 2018 and 2019 and one in the AGH newsletter in 2019.

I actively cooperate with many renowned research centres abroad and in the country: The City College of New York (United States), Consiglio Nazionale Interuniversitario di Scienze Fisiche della Materia (Italy), Università della Calabria (Italy), Université de Lorraine (France), University of Oulu (Finland), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia) , Technological and Educational Institute of Crete (Greece), Technical University of Crete (Greece), Bülent Ecevit University (Turkey), Idaho National Laboratory (United States), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (India), Indian Institute of Technology (India) , Universidad del Tolima (Colombia), University of Bordeaux (France) and the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Wrocław University of Technology and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. I also cooperate with scientist No. 1 on the Shanghai Ranking in the field of chemical engineering and chemical technology Professor Bassim H. Hameed.

I have also participated in various research projects, including the KIC InnoEnergy "MINERVE" international project, Partners: Engie (France), Solvay (Belgium), CEA (France), AGH Kraków (Poland), KIC Innoenergy (Poland) and Ecocampus a "Practice-What-You-Preach", University of Bordeaux (France), Partners: Danish Technical University (Denmark), Technical Educational Institute of Kavala (Greec   e), University of Coimbra (Portugal) and in the EU's programme TEMPUS.

I was an assistant supervisor of the doctoral dissertation and reviewer of doctoral dissertations from the University of Oulu (Finland) and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (Poland), as well as a reviewer of 190 articles in renowned international journals with the IF factor.

   For my scientific achievements, I received 10 individual awards from the President of the AGH, i.e.: 1st degree award in 2008, 2009, 2010; 2nd degree award in 2006, 2012 and 3rd degree award in 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017, 2018.

I am the editor-in-chief of International Journal of System Modeling and Simulation (UAE), an assistant editor Micro & Nano Letters (UK) and a member of the editorial committees of International Journal of Materials Science and Engineering (Malaysia), Bulletin of Trends in Chemical Sciences (India), Material Science and Engineering with Advanced Research (UK) and International Journal of Petrochemical Science & Engineering (UK). I was also a member of organisational and scientific committees of many scientific conferences organised in Europe, Asia and the United States.

I teach classes on the following subjects: Information Technology, Computer Computational Methods and Data Analysis, Chemistry, Activities of Fuel and Energy Companies and Management in Enterprises, as part of which I conducted lectures, laboratories, seminars and workshops. These classes are highly appreciated by students as testified by the high marks from student surveys. I was also a supervisor of 71 master's theses and 72 engineering theses.

In 1999, I founded the GREEN ENERGY Science Club, the first active student club at the Faculty of Energy and Fuels at the AGH. From the very beginning I have also been providing scientific and organisational care over this club, as well as scientific supervision over papers prepared by students as part of the club's activity, which resulted in about 200 publications, including mainly papers presented at student scientific conferences. The papers presented by the club members, prepared under my care, have been awarded and published many times. Members of the club together with me also took an active part in many national and international conferences. I also organised multiple sessions of the section as part of the Conference of Student Science Clubs, presided over the sessions and took part in the jury. My work in the area of supervising the GREEN ENERGY science club has been recognised by both the University's President and Accreditation Committees. For the care of the science club and the development of the student scientific movement I received the Individual Award of the President of the AGH for organisational achievements in 2005 and the Individual Award of the President of the AGH for teaching activities in 2015 as well as the Recognition Diplomas from the President of the AGH in 2003 and 2006.

My organisational activity included work in the Didactic Audit Team and the Faculty Promotion Team. I was a member of the Faculty Council and I am currently a member of the Faculty Advisory Board. In addition, in 2019 I was elected to the Scientific Discipline Board in the discipline of Chemical Engineering.

Due to significant scientific achievements, international reputation and expert knowledge, I was appointed a member of the Advisory Team for lists of scientific journals and reviewed materials from international conferences by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
